Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.

The business lists hours on 5 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 8:30 am–5:30 pm. It is closed on Saturday, Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (717) 330-0041. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is stevesautomotivetechnology.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Lancaster is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Lancaster follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

A good place to get serviced/state inspections, and purchase a vehicle. Great service technicians that know what they're doing working here and will get you right for the right price! Easy in and out, no nonsense upselling done, just reputable people putting out quality service.

I had an emergency while vacationing in Lancaster. Steve's was highly recommended for expertise and honesty, so I called. I was initially told that they were all booked for that day but would fit me in on the next day. When I explained that I was from out of town and needed to leave Lancaster that night, they immediately put me in, and they stayed TWO HOURS AFTER REGULAR CLOSING TIME to get me on my way. And remember, this is knowing that I don't live in Lancaster and likely will never need their services again.

Steve's Automotive Technology sets the gold standard for automotive service. From the moment I arrived, the staff provided exceptional, personalized care. They were exceptionally knowledgeable, refreshingly honest, and went above and beyond to ensure my total satisfaction. The work they performed was nothing short of impeccable, and I have complete trust in their abilities to handle all my vehicle's needs. Steve's Automotive earns my highest recommendation.

It's VERY hard to find a decent car garage in Lancaster; I have been going to Steve's since 2022, and it's been the BEST choice I ever made for my car! Their mechanics are knowledgeable, can provide explanations, and will even give you honest opinions. I love that they are about GOOD business, and NOT making money off of people and ripping them off. I have never left their garage feeling uncomfortable or unsure about a car repair, which is a first for me! I will continue taking my care there, and have even recommended them to family and friends looking for a decnt garage to go to. Thank you Steve's PLEASE keep doing what you're doing because it's rare in Lancaster to have a good garage that is affordable, honest, provides good customer service, honors their client appointments (which us HUGE for me), and has good mechanics that know what they're doing and can provide a very detailed explanation!
